Taryn and Alex
I’ve known Alex for a few years, through a previous relationship of mine. And he’s always been a stand-up guy. I was all for inviting him to all our game nights and other hang outs because he just has such an ease about his personality. He gets along with everyone, and that includes my grandparents! During this previous relationship, I moved 3 times and Alex was always up to lend a hand with the boxes, and make conversation with my crazy Nannie and Gramps.
We lost touch for awhile, until he sent me a message about wedding photos. Surprise! He’d met a girl in Houston and they knew it was meant to be pretty much from the very first night. I interrogated him with questions as we met over coffee to get their wedding booked! And as he told me all about Taryn, and how their story was unfolding, quickly, but totally in-sync… I couldn’t wait to capture their wedding day.
So the first time I met Taryn was at their engagement session in Palo Duro Canyon. I liked her IMMEDIATELY! Not only was she gorgeous, but just so bright and sweet. And their chemistry was undeniable. No awkward moments. No hesitations. They were just simply great at being in each other’s company. I was truly overwhelmed with happiness for my friend, and low-key excited that I had a new gal pal in Taryn, too!
They described the wedding theme to me as classy, elegant, with a 60’s vibe. The attire was black-tie, with Alex wearing a tux, and Taryn in one of the most stylish dresses I’ve seen this year. Her details totally lent themselves to some moody lighting, and were so fun to play around with. The ring is a family heirloom as well! I love the simplicity of their decor, and how this day was completely theirs, encompassed with the people who mean the most to them.
The ceremony was outdoors on a warm day in October. It was spoken in both Spanish and English. Taryn + Alex’s guests were dressed to the nines, making for a really timeless, beautiful ceremony.
THAT DIP THOUGH!!! I can’t help but overshare photos from this wedding, as Alex + Taryn’s happiness and good natured spirits just illuminated everything around them. Their families were so proud and ready to celebrate their fairytale. But before the partying really began, we had to grab some golden hour shots of the man and woman of the hour.

I looove a good dance party, and this was one for the books. Everyone was out on the dance floor including grandparents, cousins, best friends, and I may have been shaking it too! There was no formal exit to capture, infact, Alex told me in the timeline zoom meeting that they were just gonna have an “Irish exit”. Which I kinda loved because they didn’t want to break up the party! Their kiss photo in the middle of the dance floor was the last image I grabbed of the night, and I think it’s the perfect note to end on.
