Getting Ready for your Boudoir Session – Amarillo Boudoir Studio
Getting ready for a boudoir session is sooo exciting (and let’s face it, totally nerve – wracking!) Whether you booked this for yourself or as a gift for someone special, I want you to feel prepared and confident walking into your session. Boudoir isn’t just about stunning photos, and it’s certainly not about “looking sexy” — it’s about celebrating YOU. So let’s make sure you’re feeling amazing from the moment you arrive, and all the way through.
Another thing I want to touch on real quick – I am a safe space. I want to reassure you that you can trust me. I will always use neutral and respectful language, and I strive to provide a relaxed, fun experience, led by what you are comfortable with. Throughout the shoot I will guide and direct poses, but my main goal is to make sure you are within your comfort zone! And rest assured, your images will never be shared unless you give permission.
So! With that said, here are my top tips and a little encouragement to help you prep for your big day:
A Little Self-Care Goes a Long Way
Taking care of yourself in the days leading up to your session makes a big difference. Here’s what I recommend:
- Hydrate & Moisturize: Drink lots of water and keep your skin hydrated. Trust me, that natural glow is unbeatable!
- Gentle Exfoliation: A light exfoliation a few days before your session will leave your skin silky smooth. (Bonus points if you follow it up with your favorite moisturizer!) But I will do a little skin smoothing in my editing – be sure to tell me if there’s anything specific you’d like me to edit out (zits, rough skin, bruises, basically anything that wouldn’t be there 2 weeks from now.)
- Stick to What You Know: This isn’t the time to try new skincare products or treatments—you don’t want any surprise reactions.
What to Wear
Your wardrobe is where the magic happens! And a boudoir shoot doesn’t necessarily need to be sexy lingerie. You can wear anything that makes you feel beautiful! Choose pieces that make you feel like your best, most confident self. In other words, if you are unsure about an outfit, ditch it for something you know you love!
- Mix It Up: Bring a variety of outfits—think matching sets, bodysuits, and even an oversized shirt for a cozy, sexy vibe. Silky robes are another great option. You can never go wrong with white, black and red.
- Accessorize: Don’t forget the extras! Heels, jewelry, body chains, or even a sentimental prop can add a personal touch to your session.

Day-Of Tips
The morning of your session is all about keeping things light and easy. Here’s what you can do:
- Loose Clothing: Wear something loose and comfy to avoid skin marks or lines—we want a flawless finish in your photos.
- Light Meal: Eat something light but filling so you have energy without feeling bloated.
- Allow Yourself Time: Allow yourself plenty of travel time so you’re not feeling rushed when you arrive.
- Breathe & Relax: Deep breaths! Nerves are totally normal, but I’m here to guide you every step of the way. We’ll laugh, chat, and have so much fun that those nerves will disappear in no time.
Confidence is Key
Above all else, I want you to know that this session is about a celebration of who you are in this moment. Your beauty, your strength, and your story. It’s okay to feel a little unsure—most people do at first! But remember:
