Let’s be real for a second.
You get engaged, the confetti settles, and suddenly… the noise starts. The guest list spreadsheets, the unsolicited advice from your aunt you hardly speak to, the pressure to throw the “Party of the Century.” It’s enough to make you want to hide under the covers until its’ all over. I see it all the time. Couples get so caught up in hosting an event that they forget to actually experience it. But lately, I’ve been seeing a shift in the wedding mindset. Couples are trading in the chaos of 350+ guests for something softer, slower, and honestly? A whole lot more magical. Enter: The West Texas Micro Wedding.
If you’ve heard the term buzzing around but aren’t quite sure if it’s for you, pull up a chair. Let’s talk about why these intimate days are becoming my absolute favorite things to photograph. In fact, I love them so much my fiance and I chose this model for OUR Fall 2025 wedding.

A micro wedding isn’t just a “regular wedding but smaller.” It’s a completely different vibe.
Technically speaking, a micro wedding usually has fewer than 75 guests. But the real definition is in the feeling. It’s the perfect sweet spot between running off to elope and throwing a massive gala.
You still get all the beautiful things you’ve been dreaming of – the stunning dress, the lush bouquet, the first dance, the cake cutting. You just get to share them with the people who actually know your heart.

1. You Actually Get to Eat the Cake At big weddings, I watch couples spend the entire night rushing from table to table, trying to thank all 300 people for coming. They barely get a bite of dinner, let alone a moment to breathe. At a micro wedding? You sit down. You eat a full meal. You laugh until your sides hurt with your best friends. You are fully present.
2. Quality Over Quantity When you aren’t paying for as many dinner plates (half of whom are your parents’ coworkers), your budget suddenly has room to breathe. You can splurge on the things that actually matter to you. Maybe that’s a jaw-dropping floral installation, that dream photographer (hi! 👋), or a killer multi-course dinner under twinkle lights. It’s about affordable luxury. For more inspiration on luxury elopement trends, check out Green Wedding Shoes.
3. The Pressure is Off There is a specific kind of calm that settles over a wedding day when the guest list is small. The timeline is more relaxed. The moments are slower. You aren’t performing for a crowd; you’re celebrating with your village.

I believe in the magic of these intimate days with my whole heart. If you’re reading this and nodding along, thinking, “Yes, finally, someone gets it,” then we are probably a perfect fit.
I specialize in capturing these smaller, heartfelt celebrations here in West Texas. I know how to document the quiet moments, the loud laughs, and the details that make your day uniquely yours – without the stress of a massive production.
Whether you’re eyeing a cozy Friday evening with your closest crew or a laid-back Sunday brunch wedding, I’m here for it.
